FORGE DE LAGUIOLE is the epicentre of French artisanal knife making. Set in the small village of Laguiole in the picturesque hills above the L'Aubrac in Central France, in a forge designed by the infamous Philippe Starck. So intrigued by the legend, the intrepid Mr Fine had the urge to experience it for himself & indeed wasn't dissapointed, witnessing true craftsmanship & beauty of the area... More so, after a hard days exploring, we tucked into a plate de jure of the local 'cote de boeuf' a hearty hunk of organicAubrac beef & irresistable 'aligot '..potatoes whipped with butter, melted 'Tome' cheese & garlic... washed down by some good French Red Wine. p.s. Mrs Fabulous was less impressed by all this manly stuff & couldn't wait to get back down the hills to savore the wonders of Provence...
